7 Celebrating New Year in Marina Bay Singapore
It's almost 2011! Just a few hours to go before New Year. My wife and I decided to celebrate our first New Year in Marina Bay. There will be fireworks display after the countdown in the area. We agreed to go there since MRT and bus services will be extended. MRT will be running until 2am and the night bus at around 5am. This will be a big help so that we will have a more convenient option to go home rather than competing for a taxi with other several thousands of people.

But now, I've made something for a more serious article, here's a list of the thinks I miss badly when I'm homesick.

0 Things You'll Miss(Probably)
When you're working abroad, there comes a time, or most of the time, when you miss home badly that you want to book the next flight out of the country to your home country. Reasons may be different. Some miss their families, loved ones, their pet, their house or something they left behind.
But have you ever seen something like a list of things that someone would probably miss? Read on.

0 Merry Christmas Everyone! And a Warning..
I wish you all to have a safe and wonderful Christmas. We celebrated our Noche Buena with my sister last night with cassava cake, ube halaya (purple yam) and leche flan on the while watching TV. Two of our housemates already went back to Philippines, while the other one is nowhere to be found(celebrating the Christmas in 1-Altitude?). This is the first Christmas far from my family and relatives. The only good thing is we're going back to Philippines tonight, for a post-Christmas celebration.

0 New Philippine Peso Bills
Back in the Philippines, there will be new peso bills to be circulated. The bills are "updated" and the design looks fresh. They included a number of security features to prevent counterfeiting bills.
The surprising part was former President Cory Aquino is now together with Ninoy Aquino in the P500 bill. See the image after the jump.

0 Singlish: What is?
Ever heard of singlish? When in Singapore, you've probably heard about it but never paid attention to it. Because back home, we have our own english-carabao. Singlish is basically their version and same like our english-carabao.

3 The Jobseeker Guide to Singapore
Warning:
This guide for job-seekers who want to find work in Singapore is created specifically for IT professionals. As this guide is a compilation of my experiences here so far, I cannot personally guarantee you to get a job here in Singapore. This is just a guide to maximize your chances to a successful hiring here and minimize the risks, again based on my experience. I will not be able to include tips or guides for you guys in industries like HRM, F&B and domestic helpers. In the future, unless our precious time permits, I can create an FAQ of sorts for other industries. Provided that I can interview people other than IT professionals for their success stories.
Are you ready to change your life?

0 Simbang Gabi 2010 in Singapore: My first time
This will be my first time celebrating Christmas outside my home country. My first time celebrating Christmas in Singapore. And before that, we will be attending the Simbang Gabi here.
Simbang Gabi is a typical Filipino tradition in which an early morning mass, hence the name Dawn mass, is celebrated starting December 15 until December 24. In other churches, the mass is celebrated in the evening.

0 Near the Oldest Cathedral in Singapore
During Sundays, my sister and I go to church. We are Roman Catholics so that's normal. Sometimes we attend the anticipated mass on Saturdays, but normally we do this on Sundays.
One Sunday, we went to the Cathedral of the Good Sheperd. It is located near Bras Basah MRT station, bounded by Queen and Victoria Streets. It is the oldest Roman Catholic church in Singapore.

0 Walking by Swissotel
This picture was taken near Swissotel The Stamford Singapore near City Hall MRT station, and I'm not sure if this high rise is indeed part of the said 5-star hotel. Haven't been inside one of these hotels, and I'm pretty sure I would not be getting inside one very soon.

0 UFO in Singapore?!
If you're in Tampines area, especially in Tampines Central, you may find a UFO-like structure here. Not exactly in Tampines Central, but if you ride a bus going to Yio Chu Kang, you'll definitely see this on the right side. Take a number 72 bus, after *approximately* 7 bus stops, you'll see these mammoth structures.
WTH is this? Is it a parked flying spaceship ready for launch? It's like a huge binoculars looking up in the sky.
Nah.. It's just two water tanks to supply water for all of us. Built by Singapore's PUB.
Gotcha!

0 Mural in Suntec City Mall...
This illustration on a wall somewhere in Singapore(can't remember if this is in Suntec City Mall or near that establishment) shows us the typical life here during 19-somethings. I have no idea what this is because we just passed by this path and snapped a picture of it.
Please tell me what this is. Thanks!
