0 A Reminder to Jobhunters

For those of you who are planning to find work here in Singapore this month of February, please remember that the 3rd and 4th day is Chinese New Year and almost all of the establishments are closed during the time, especially companies. If you plan to go here, do so after the holidays to avoid using up the two days for nothing. Some companies also make Monday after the Chinese New Year a holiday, so please take note of this.

Chinese New Year or the Spring Festival, is celebrated during the first day of the first month in Chinese lunisolar calendar. This calendar determines the exact dates of the celebration. The dates normally falls between January 21 and February 20 in the Gregorian calendar. This celebration is the most important holidays of the Chinese, celebrated all over the world where there are Chinese.

In summary, 3rd and 4th of February is public holidays here in Singapore and in some companies, 7th is also declared a holiday. Plan accordingly.

Goodluck!
