1 Mercato Centrale in Bonifacio Global City

During my week-long vacation back home, I had a chance to go to the Mercato Centrale in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. My wife's house also happen to be very near to that place so we just walked there last Sunday morning.

0 I shouldn't asked for the sambal

For dinner tonight, I tried the Hokkien Mee in Kopitiam at the Festival Mall. I made it a take-away so I can eat it at home. The lady asked me if I want some sambal chili so I signaled "just a bit" using my hand. Unfortunately, she didn't understood what I did and put a spoonful of chili on the noodles.

0 Butter-beered Prawns

Tonight, I made something extra special. I cooked prawns in butter-beer sauce. If you have tasted it, then you would forget your name and where you are for several seconds. It's that delicious! :-p

0 Name the Dish..

Tonight, I cooked a dish that I just made up. I thought I liked broccoli, and then I added shiitake mushrooms, carrots, a bit of cabbage, bell pepper, onions and garlic. I stir-fried it on butter, and this was the result.

4 Fish Fillet and Potato Salad for Dinner

Today, I went home earlier than the usual 6pm. I had asked for a half-day, because I need to process my OEC in the Philippine Embassy. Around 3:30pm, I was already at home. I only thought of the two dishes that I would cook for dinner after arriving at the house. So after resting, I went to buy some groceries.

0 Beef Broccoli with Cauliflower

Tonight, I cooked my version of beef broccoli. The dish will be called... Cauli-Beef Broccoli. Because it has cauliflower in it. Makes sense? Hehehe.

But actually, I based the recipe from this website. I just added cauliflower, and the other ingredients I've put based on my own taste. But still, thanks to that recipe. Here's what's left:

I forgot to take the picture before dinner.

0 Beef Broccoli?

I planned on cooking beef broccoli for today, but it didn't happen because my housemate cooked some stir fried noodles. I searched the web for recipe, and found one that looks good. Maybe tomorrow, I'll try this dish.

1 Potato patties for tonight

Today, I'm calling it Potato Patties. I cooked potato cakes again, and this time I took some pictures and giving it a name. I also made a dipping mayo, made from mayo, cream and pepper powder. It looks not so inviting, but actually tastes good. :-P

0 Pork Steak last night

Last night, I tried cooking the Filipino style pork steak. I marinated the pork chops for the whole day, and the result was exceptional. I thought I liked the taste of the dish, but they didn't gave any positive hints. I'm not sure if they liked it. But I did, and that's what important. :-P I also made cucumber slices in vinegar and pepper combination. The dinner was perfect, that is, for me. ^_^

2 The potato cake I made was...

...a success!

Last two weeks(I think), I saw this dish on Ten Dollar Dinners program from the Food Network Asia channel. I thought it was very easy to do, but on that show it was cooked as a side dish to steak dinner. So I dropped the steak and planned on cooking the potato cake.

4 Humongous Mango!

I was making my way to Fair Price, planning to buy some rice and a bit of small prawns to add to the pinakbet, when I came across to this display of mangoes. These fruit really caught my attention. Take a look at this picture of the mango which I bought.

0 Let yourself get burned..

.. it's the only way to learn. Getting burned once in a while is good, and learn from mistakes. That's how we learn, right? We take the test, and then learn the lesson. This, I think, is the same when it comes to cooking. Even though there are millions of cookbooks around, you'll never learn how to cook if you don't try it yourself. At first, you'll be cooking not-so-extraordinary dishes, but along the way you'll learn how to create amazing food. Through experience. That's the only way.

1 Gong Cha Alisan Tea

I got a very nice treat after lunch today. One of my colleagues wanted to have some drink from Gong Cha, so we went there after having our lunch. This time I tried the Gong Cha Alisan Tea, which is a delicious choice, I must say. It's Alisan tea mixed with ice and frothy milk on top. I noticed there's also a dash of Alisan tea powder on top of the heavenly milk. Which, by the way, tasted great! I liked the taste and texture, add to that the perfect, chewy pearls.

Unfortunately, I was unable to take a picture of the drink because I consumed it all before I even thought of having a picture. One of my colleague also told me that he always order Gong Cha Alisan Tea everytime he buys on Gong Cha. So it's that good!

If you agree with me, then press Enter. If not, press and hold Alt then F4. ^_^

Kidding aside, let me know your thoughts about the Gong Cha Alisan tea in the comment board. Don't forget to put your name before pressing Post in the comment so I don't have to call you Anonymous1 or Anonymous2, mmkay?

0 Gong Cha Milk Tea

taken from Gong Cha website
Surprise, surprise! I didn't know there was a Gong Cha branch in Tampines Central. We just went there today, after lunch, and lucky me I bought Milk Tea with pearls. At first sip, I know the milk tea was good. It's better than Each a Cup, but I'm not sure if it's better than KOI's. What I can say is that the pearls are better in Gong Cha than in KOI Cafe.

6 Guess this heavenly dessert

I recently came across with this sweet and rather "unhealthy" combination of vanilla ice cream, caramelized bananas, butterscotch cream sauce, and crumble served in a sizzling pan. It was so good that I forgot my name every time I took a spoonful of this dessert.

4 Weekend Adventure: KOI Cafe

I should have gone to KOI Cafe yesterday, but it was raining in the afternoon and I was so sleepy all day. That's why my weekend adventure has been moved today. I made my time to go to this well-known bubble tea cafe.

2 What's up with KOI cafe?

KOI Cafe Bubble Tea -- first heard it when I was already about 3 months staying here in Singapore. My colleague told me that this one is better than what I normally drink, like Each a Cup and Sweet Talk. He also told me that you would need at least 30 minutes to buy one. It was unbelievable when I saw a branch in Tampines, the queue was looooong(whew!). I didn't even consider buying because I would be late for work after lunch.

2 Always Mi Goreng

I'm a big fan of instant pancit canton during my college years. I used to prepare 3 packets of Lucky Me! Pancit Canton noodles and eat it in one sitting. Sometimes I eat pancit canton as a topping on a plate of rice but most of the time just pancit canton. I also eat the normal pancit canton, but that was only when I'm in my hometown where good pancit canton is served.
