Planning to visit the Philippine Embassy to get an OEC this February or March? Or do you want to renew your passport or OWWA membership? Please be advised that there will be a modified work week schedule in the Embassy starting February 11, 2011. They will be open only on Mondays through Fridays, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM. For visa applications, it will be accepted only on Mondays through Thursdays. The Embassy will be closed on Saturday and Sunday due to the ongoing improvement of its public waiting area. This schedule will take effect until March 31, 2011. Normal operating schedule (Sunday-Thursday) will resume on April 1, 2011.

Preferably, and what our embassy says, you should avoid traveling abroad and renew your passport 6 months before the expiration. So by October and November, it is not advisable that you travel outside and better to renew your passport before going out of the country. I think you should start applying for the renewal of your passport as soon as possible so that by October or November, you have your renewed passport.
