The Chinese New Year is getting nearer and nearer. People are already preparing for the celebrations. Hong Bao's are given free on supermarkets, decorations being set up on the streets and malls. Abalones are sold and advertisements about these sea creatures are everywhere. And the most important part of the Chinese New Year celebration, a number of IT people have already tendered their resignations and their positions will be vacant for you to grab.

I'm not sure if this is a tradition for some people, but before the Chinese New Year, they resign from a company and move to a new one. When relocated, most of the time they leave their previous position open for new hires. This is where you come in. You should have posted your updated resumés in websites like JobsDB and Jobstreet early this month of January. You should have sent your resumés to hiring managers who want to find replacement for the vacant ones. During this season, people move to another company to improve their career on both skills and compensation.

If you want to find work here, this is the time of the year. Here on the company where I work, three persons already resigned from the other team. If you think about it, that's three person on a team. What if there are 10 teams in a project or company. That's 30 available positions. How many IT companies are there in Singapore? You do the math.

So, what are you waiting for? Christmas? Go here and here and also here if you want to work in Singapore. This is your time.

Kung Hei Fat Choi! (Congratulations and be prosperous!)
