During our Universal Studios Singapore weekend adventure, we noticed on our way to Sentosa a new walkway -- called Sentosa Boardwalk -- built between the main island and the fun island. We rode the Sentosa Express going to the Sentosa island and thought that maybe we should have tried the walkway. But it was too late and we never knew that there's already a way to go to Sentosa via foot. So the next day, when my sister and I have to see our cousin who has been touring in Singapore and currently in Sentosa, we went there via Sentosa Boardwalk.
Sentosa Boardwalk, which is a new addition to the ways to access the island of Sentosa, features the first ever garden-themed boardwalk in the whole Southeast Asia. Using this walkway will only cost you $1 for entrance to Sentosa(if you're going to the island), but you can just go back if you're just walking leisurely for the exciting green landscape and blue waters.
Starting from VivoCity waterfront promenade, you will have a great view of the opposite island, as well as the calm seas between the walkway. The whole walkway is divided into five parts, inspired by the landscapes and gardens found in Singapore. It has Mangrove, Rock Garden, Terrain & Hill, Coastal Flora and Tropical Rainforest. It also has travellators, so you don't have to worry about long walks.
For the pet-lovers out there, it is not allowed to bring their pets on the walkway.
(I know it's kinda late, because Sentosa Boardwalk opened last January 29, 2011, but it's better late than never right? :-D)
