Visiting Sentosa Island when going to Singapore is a no-brainer. In Sentosa you'll find Resorts World Singapore, Universal Studios Singapore, Merlion Walk, Siloso Beach, the Songs of the Sea show and many others. Every day there are thousands of people visiting this wonderful island which is just a train ride away. But there is another way to go here: riding the cable car.

When going to Sentosa, you should at least once go by the Jewel Cable Car ride. Or maybe twice. It's always a fascinating experience when riding the cable car. The cable car starts at Mount Faber on the main island of Singapore, the Jewel Box station. Then the next station will be Harbourfront Tower 2. This is where we boarded the cable car. The last station is the Imbiah Lookout on the island of Sentosa. The ride will cost you S$24 each adult for one way only, whether you board at Mount Faber or Harbourfront and S$26 for a two-way ride. For children, I think it's S$15 and S$17 for one way and round trip respectively. (Sorry, I'm not sure on the cost of tickets for children. Let me know if this is incorrect.)

We boarded at the Harbourfront station. If you want go to here, you can ride the Purple line MRT and alight at Harbourfront MRT station. Walk to the Harbourfront mall next to Vivo City and you can find the walkway to the Tower 2 in the second floor of this mall. After buying the tickets, we went up 15 floors to ride the cable car to Sentosa. It's almost 250 feet, so you can enjoy the view around the harbor and the city. The gondola has glass floors, so you can see through it and look below if you want. If you have fear of heights, then I recommend this to you. For you to erase your fear.

Before we alight at Sentosa station, a photographer took a picture of us inside the cable car. Then he guided us to the booth where we can claim (read: buy) the picture from a range of S$15 to S$20, depending of the picture frame. We claimed ours, waiting for the picture to be printed. But at that time, they had some problems on the printer so the photographer guided us down to an exhibit room where they display the history of the Singapore cable cars while we are waiting for the picture. The exhibit features the past versions of the cable cars used and also the Lego version of the cable car. We went around, checking out the exhibit, even finding one of their photographers locked inside a displayed gondola. After getting the photograph, we proceeded on going around Sentosa Island.

Next time you plan to visit Sentosa, you may want to go there by cable car. It's a fun and interesting ride where you can have the feeling of flying and a little fear that the cable might snap anytime. But it's fun!
